Now let me explain why I am going overseas next year (I guess it’s almost this year). In 2006 my mom and I had the privilege to go to England with our church on a mission’s trip. From the moment that we set foot in the beautiful country I knew it would have a huge impact in my life in the future. We went to a church in Portsmouth and did different projects for people that attend the church and people in the community and had a kid’s day. I fell in love. I fell in love with the community and the people that live there. I also fell in love with the church and all the work they do throughout their community. I decided then and there that I would go and volunteer at the church in Portsmouth after I graduated from high school. I kept in contact with several people from the church still wanting to go over and help out. I kept praying about if this was God’s will for my life. Well, graduation came a year earlier than I expected, and I decided that a girl fresh from high school at 17 years old shouldn’t go gallivanting to England by herself. I chose to stay home and attend Mount Hood Community College and get my A.A. I still kept in contact with my friend’s in England still wanting to go to England and help at the church. I continued to pray for God’s will in my life, and finally my plans that had continued to blossom over the years started to take place. It seemed like my dreams of five years are starting to take place. I have talked it over with the pastor at the church and we have started to set up the plans of me going over to England for six months in September. The church applied for the sponsorship visa, and was accepted this last week. And then we need to get on the ball and start the process for me to get my visa, and once it’s cleared over there I get to apply from my side!!
This whole thing has come together so efficiently. There is no doubt in my mind that this is God’s will for me to go to England for the six months. Even in the darkest of times when I felt like this wouldn’t actually happen I would always end up getting an email the next day from someone at the church asking me if I still wanted to come to England.
Through this blog I will keep you all posted on what’s going on with the visa process and I will let you all know when I go over there and keep you up-to-date on the amazing things God is doing in my life! I am so excited and blessed to have this opportunity!
Mark 16:15 "He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation."
