Something I have learned over the years is that God LOVES To teach us lessons. I have also learned that He absolutely LOVES teaching me lessons, and showing me when I am wrong. This week I learned my lesson. This lesson is that He is Jehovah Jireh the Lord my Provider and I need not depend on anyone else but Him in my moments of worry, doubt, and stress. He is my Rock. “The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold,” Psalm 18:2.
My latest doubt and worry has been about finances for my trip to England. Plane tickets are expensive.I know that I have been called to go to England, and I know that God provides, but, I also know that I really enjoy running my life. Now, I know that this is wrong, and God always puts me back into my place, but, it doesn't stop me from wanting to run my life. (It's the youngest child in me.) But, when I try and run my life, I end up shipwrecked on an abandoned Island, but, God is my deliverer and he directs me the right way. (Proverbs 3:5-6).
That is what he did for me this week. I was worried about how I am going to pay for my plane ticket and we found out that my mom has enough mileage points to get me there! The Lord really is the provider.
Seeing these testimonies of God's greatness in my life shows me how amazing and beautiful God is!
